Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The President of Uzbekistan has signed a decree “On Measures to Optimize the Number of Managerial Positions in Executive Bodies of State Power through the Extensive Implementation of Digitalization.”
The President approved proposals from the Cabinet of Ministers to align the number of managerial positions in the executive bodies of the republic with the digitalization of their functions and tasks, including the active use of artificial intelligence technologies.
According to the decree, 2,141 staff positions will be cut across the executive branch.
The largest reductions will affect the State Tax Committee (498 positions), the Ministry of Water Resources (224), the Ministry of Agriculture (200), and the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction (163).
The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change will cut 176 positions, and the Ministry of Justice will reduce 197 positions.
In addition, 16 deputy leadership positions have been eliminated across various committees, agencies, and inspectorates.
