Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Consulate General in Aktau has provided consular and legal assistance to Uzbek citizens who faced various difficulties in Kazakhstan, the Dunya news agency reported.
As part of efforts to protect the rights and legitimate interests of compatriots, the diplomatic mission helped two citizens obtain certificates for returning to Uzbekistan. Air tickets were also purchased for six other citizens to return home.
On 9 September, the Consulate General, together with Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency and the Committee for Family and Women, held an online meeting with Uzbek women who had arrived in Kazakhstan for temporary work and encountered financial difficulties.
Following appeals received during an outreach session from five citizens, including three minors, arrangements were made for their return to Uzbekistan.
They flew from Aktau to Tashkent on 12 September.
As part of its protective measures, the consulate also assisted an Uzbek citizen whose passport had been taken by unscrupulous intermediaries. The document was promptly returned to its owner, allowing him to fly home.
Assistance was also provided to a compatriot and her three children who fell victim to fraud while attempting to obtain a permit for temporary employment. The entire family was safely transported to Uzbekistan.
