Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – On 26 June, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from Türkiye led by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, who arrived in the country on a working visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Defense of Türkiye conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The meeting discussed deepening Uzbek-Turkish relations under a comprehensive strategic partnership. Attention was focused on implementing agreements reached during the high-level visit to Ankara on June 5-6 of this year.
Prospects for developing military and military-technical cooperation were considered. Issues of inter-agency cooperation, organization of joint events, and training of military specialists were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in the field of security. Measures to counter terrorism, extremism, and radicalism were discussed.
Opinions were exchanged on ensuring peace and stability in the region, including the situation in Afghanistan.
