Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of LB Sport, a sports equipment manufacturer in Balykchi district, on 23 September, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The company is considered one of Uzbekistan’s leading domestic sports equipment manufacturers and cooperates with more than 20 sports federations. The project was implemented in accordance with a presidential resolution dated 24 March aimed at expanding the participation of entrepreneurs in the sports sector.
Investment in the project amounted to 25 billion soums, fully financed by the entrepreneur from their own funds. The company produces 65 types of products for 18 sports. Its annual production capacity is 500,000 units of sports equipment with a total value of 75 billion soums.
The products are comparable in quality with foreign counterparts while being offered at more affordable prices. Sports equipment is exported to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other CIS countries. Annual exports amount to US$3 million.
The company also focuses on creating employment opportunities for local residents. LB Sport cooperates with 800 low-income families in Balykchi district through home-based work. About 90% of home-based workers are women, while another 65% are young people under the age of 30. The model allows participants to earn a stable income while working from home.
A dual education system is also operating at the company. Some 100 students from Technical Colleges No. 1 and No. 2 in Balykchi district receive training and practical skills directly through the production process.
The head of state reviewed the production process and samples of finished products and was briefed on the company’s plans.
In 2027, LB Sport plans to attract foreign investment to expand its production lines. In particular, the company plans to launch a project for manufacturing sports bicycles.
During the visit, Mirziyoyev also met with talented young people and company employees.
