Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Repair and restoration work has been completed on Glinka Street in Tashkent, where a flash occurred on 3 September following a leak from an underground gas pipeline. The road has been fully reopened to traffic, the Tashkent City Hokimiyat said.
Following the incident, a special working group was established on the instructions of the city authorities. It included specialists from Veolia Energy Tashkent, Tashkent City Water Supply, the Khududgaz Poytakht gas supply branch and district gas supply departments. The necessary specialized equipment was also deployed.
During inspections, specialists identified four leaks on medium-pressure gas pipelines and another six on low-pressure pipelines. All identified faults were promptly repaired.
At the same time, inspections of the engineering infrastructure are continuing. Mobile laboratories of Khududgazta’minot JSC and other responsible organizations are conducting comprehensive checks of the networks in areas adjacent to Glinka Street. The aim is to identify any potential gas leaks and prevent emergencies.
The city administration said the measures are aimed at ensuring public safety and the stable operation of urban infrastructure.
Additional information on the inspection results will be provided as the work is completed. The authorities also thanked residents and drivers for their understanding of the temporary inconveniences caused by the work.
