Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana Region is exploring opportunities to cooperate with Saudi Arabia’s Al Sharq Flexible Packaging Factories in the production of packaging materials, the introduction of modern technologies and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The prospects for cooperation were discussed at a meeting in Riyadh between Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov and Muhammad Hussein Irfan, the company’s general manager for sales and marketing.
The talks took place during the regional governor’s working visit to Saudi Arabia.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, including the sharing of production expertise and advanced technologies, as well as the organisation of joint packaging production.
Founded in 1976, Al Sharq Flexible Packaging Factories specialises in flexible packaging materials. The company produces polyethylene and other polymer films, as well as packaging for various types of industrial products.
According to the information presented, the company uses European technologies in its manufacturing processes, and its products comply with international quality standards and are supplied to both domestic and foreign markets.
Khayrullo Bozorov highlighted the importance of the packaging industry for production and trade supply chains. He said that high-quality packaging materials help preserve product quality, improve competitiveness and expand access to foreign markets.
During the meeting, Saudi partners were also briefed on Ferghana Region’s industrial and investment potential and the conditions established in the region for business activity.
One proposal was to establish business ties between Al Sharq Flexible Packaging Factories and Lion Print, a company operating in Buvayda District of Ferghana Region.
The sides considered the possibility of implementing joint projects to manufacture packaging products.
The regional governor invited representatives of the Saudi company to visit Ferghana to learn about the operations of local enterprises and assess cooperation opportunities on the ground.
Following the meeting, both sides expressed interest in continuing discussions on potential areas of cooperation.
