Arup to Assess Development Projects in Tashkent Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Region Governor Zoir Mirzayev met representatives of British engineering and consulting company Arup to discuss prospective projects aimed at developing the region's economic, industrial and tourism potential, the press service of the Tashkent Region administration said.
First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov also took part in the meeting.
One of the main topics was the regional administration's proposal to build modern tourism complexes along the banks of the Syr Darya River in Chinaz District. The participants said the project would enable more effective use of the area's natural potential.
The sides also discussed potential cooperation on projects involving the construction of large-scale facilities, industrial development, energy projects and the creation of tourism zones across Tashkent Region.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue work on the proposed initiatives and to hold another meeting in the near future.
