Iraqi Kurdistan Business Delegation Visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation of 165 entrepreneurs from Iraqi Kurdistan has arrived in Uzbekistan for a two-day business visit organized at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait. The program includes a business forum, meetings and visits to industrial facilities.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the visit follows agreements reached during Chamber Chairman Davron Vakhabov's working trip to Iraq in December 2025.

The delegation includes the leadership of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Iraqi Kurdistan, the heads of the chambers of commerce and industry of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, Halabja and Kirkuk, as well as representatives of the region's business community.

During the visit, taking place on 17–18 July, participants will attend the Uzbekistan–Iraqi Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Forum in Tashkent, visit industrial enterprises and view exhibitions showcasing products from the electrical engineering, food processing and textile industries.

One of the key events of the program was a visit to the confectionery manufacturer CRAFERS. The delegation was also presented with a food industry exhibition featuring more than 25 Uzbek producers. Visitors toured production facilities, learned about manufacturing technologies and reviewed the product range, expressing interest in supplying Uzbek goods to the Iraqi Kurdistan market and expanding trade and economic cooperation.

The entrepreneurs also visited the production complex of IMZO, which manufactures aluminium and glass window systems as well as facade structures. The delegation was introduced to the company's production capacity, export potential and manufacturing technologies. The enterprise employs around 2,500 people, while its production complex covers an area of 16 hectares.

In addition, IMZO hosted an exhibition featuring products from 35 domestic companies. Representatives of the Iraqi Kurdistan business community reviewed the capabilities of Uzbekistan's construction materials industry and discussed prospects for industrial cooperation and expanding bilateral trade.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry said it expects the visit to establish new direct contacts between businesses, advance joint projects and provide additional momentum for trade and economic cooperation between the two sides.
