Foreign-Invested Companies in Uzbekistan Exceed 20,000
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The number of operating enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan has exceeded 20,000 for the first time, according to the National Statistics Committee.
As of 1 July 2026, the country had 20,502 enterprises with foreign investment. Of these, 4,611 were joint ventures, while 15,891 were wholly owned by foreign investors.
According to the statistics agency, the number of operating foreign-invested enterprises has increased 1.4 times over the past five years, reflecting continued growth in investment activity in the country.
Chinese investors account for the largest number of foreign-invested enterprises, with 6,060 companies. Russia ranks second with 3,454 enterprises, followed by Turkey with 2,293.
The top 10 countries by the number of operating enterprises with foreign investment also include Kazakhstan with 1,307 companies, the Republic of Korea with 725, Afghanistan with 685, Azerbaijan with 473, Tajikistan with 455, the United Arab Emirates with 440, and India with 426.
The National Statistics Committee said enterprises with foreign capital continue to play an important role in Uzbekistan's economic development by attracting investment, creating jobs and strengthening international business cooperation.
