Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A new industrial complex combining refrigeration equipment manufacturing, deep processing of agricultural products and modern storage facilities is planned for Uzbekistan’s Ferghana Region.

The project is being developed by Chinese company Haoyuan Green Cold Chain LLC, registered in Rishtan District, the Ferghana regional administration reported.

The project’s prospects were discussed by regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation led by the company’s head, Jiang Yuqian.

According to the plans presented, the first stage will involve setting up production of refrigeration equipment. The next stages will include facilities for deep processing of agricultural products and the construction of modern cold-storage warehouses.

The project also envisages developing logistics infrastructure, creating new jobs and training local specialists.

The initiative is expected to expand the region’s capacity to store and process fruit and vegetable products.

This is intended to increase the added value of agricultural goods and strengthen Ferghana Region’s export potential.

Bozorov stressed the need to implement the project according to a clear plan, ensuring that the assigned tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps to advance the initiative.
