Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with executives of UAE-based companies Masdar and AMEA Power during the first meeting of the Investors Council in the fuel and energy sector, held in Tashkent.
The meeting was attended by Masdar Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi and AMEA Power Chairman Hussain Al Nowais.
The sides noted the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates. According to figures presented at the meeting, bilateral trade turnover has increased by 40% since the beginning of the year. Progress on major investment projects was also highlighted.
Following the talks, the sides agreed to accelerate the implementation of ongoing initiatives and expand cooperation in several areas.
These include renewable energy, modern infrastructure development, industrial and sectoral cooperation, tourism, and services.
