Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov discussed prospects for modernising the region’s drinking water supply systems and sewerage networks with executives of Saudi company Miahona.

The talks took place in Riyadh during the regional governor’s working visit to Saudi Arabia.

Bozorov met with Miahona Chief Executive Officer Awad Al-Otaibi.

The sides reviewed proposals to develop water infrastructure in Ferghana Region, drawing on the company’s experience in water supply, wastewater treatment and water reuse.

Miahona specialises in infrastructure projects, including those implemented through public-private partnerships. The company also develops water supply solutions for industrial enterprises and manages wastewater treatment systems.

Miahona is expanding its operations in Uzbekistan. On 29 September 2024, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and Uzsuvtaminot JSC.

Preliminary work has since begun on potential projects under this cooperation, including initiatives in Ferghana Region.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue practical engagement, examine the issues raised through working groups and prepare specific proposals for further cooperation.
