Yandex Maps Launches 'Chilla' Heat Guide in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Yandex Maps has launched a new "Chilla" section in its app to help residents and visitors in Uzbekistan find places to rest and cool down during the country's 40-day summer heat period, the company said.

The new feature is available in Tashkent, Samarkand, Namangan, Andijan, Nukus and Bukhara. It is designed to help users quickly locate places that may be useful during hot weather and plan more comfortable routes around the city.

To use the feature, users open the Yandex Maps app, tap the search bar and select the "Chilla" category. The map then displays shopping malls, city fountains, drinking water points, swimming pools, water parks, beaches, as well as places where users can buy ice cream or tea and take a break during a walk.

The app also includes a selection of popular destinations outside urban areas, including Charvak Reservoir, the Amirsoy mountain resort, the Urungach lakes and other natural locations suitable for weekend trips.

Yandex Maps also provides weather forecasts. Users can view the current temperature, a one-day forecast and a precipitation map to help choose a more comfortable time to go outside and avoid prolonged exposure during the hottest hours of the day.

Yandex Maps is a mapping service that enables users to search for businesses and city facilities, view opening hours, photos, ratings and reviews, and build routes for public transport, driving, cycling and walking.
