Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's national team won one gold and three silver medals at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2026), with all four team members finishing among the prize winners, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education said.
Raykhona Tuymurodova won the gold medal. Jasur Mustafoyev, Azizmuhammad Hafizov and Mirjalol Khomidjonov each received silver medals.
Under a presidential decree issued on 30 September 2024, winners of prestigious international academic Olympiads are awarded state cash prizes.
A gold medal winner receives 1.03 billion soums, while the winner's teacher is awarded 185.4 million soums.
Silver medalists receive 618 million soums each, and their teachers are awarded 103 million soums each. A bronze medal carries a prize of 412 million soums, while the teacher receives 61.8 million soums.
The decree also provides for teachers who prepare winners of international Olympiads to receive a one-level promotion in their professional qualification category.
