Andijan Region to Develop Avatar Grape Plantations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Avatar grape plantations will be established in Asaka District of Uzbekistan's Andijan Region as part of a tourism complex, the UzA news agency reported.
The project will cover 190 hectares of hilly land and focus on cultivating the Avatar grape variety, one of the world's best-known grape cultivars.
Developed in California, the Avatar variety is distinguished by its elongated dark blue berries, high yields and drought resistance. According to specialists, the natural and climatic conditions and soils of Asaka District are suitable for its cultivation.
To improve the use of land with challenging terrain, the project will introduce a modern drip irrigation system designed to significantly reduce water consumption.
The project is being implemented by Agrosanoat Innovatorlari in cooperation with the Agency for the Development of Agro-Industry.
In addition to establishing vineyards, the project includes the development of tourism infrastructure.
Plans for the complex include recreation areas, hotels, agrotourism facilities, a family restaurant and attractions for active leisure, including a zipline.
