New Electric Train to Link Tashkent and Bekabad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Railways will launch a new daily electric train service between Tashkent and Bekabad from 18 July.

Passenger service No. 7050/7049 will operate every day, passing through Yangiyul, Chinaz, Syrdarya, Gulistan, Yangier and Khavast.

The train will depart Bekabad at 6:00 a.m. and arrive in Tashkent at 9:16 a.m. On the return journey, it will leave Tashkent at 6:34 p.m. and arrive in Bekabad at 9:38 p.m.

Ticket prices have been set at 15,000 soums for adults and 9,000 soums for children.

The new EP3D electric train consists of six carriages equipped with air conditioning, USB charging ports, wireless internet access and lifts for passengers with disabilities.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the new train during a working visit to Bekabad on 13 July, travelling on it from Tashkent.

The train has a maximum speed of 120 km/h and can accommodate up to 586 passengers. It is expected to serve around 1,000 passengers daily, with annual ridership projected at up to 300,000.

In May this year, construction began on the Nurafshan–Bekabad–Yangier railway line in Tashkent region. The project includes four new stations, 21 overpasses, six bridges and one traction substation.
