Uzbekistan and Türkiye Expand List of Preferential Trade Goods

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Türkiye have agreed to expand the list of goods eligible for preferential trade treatment following a meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Working Group on the Preferential Trade Agreement.

A Turkish delegation led by Deputy Trade Minister Mustafa Tuzcu visited Uzbekistan for official talks. The meeting was co-chaired by Akram Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and Mustafa Tuzcu.

During the negotiations, the two sides discussed expanding, on a reciprocal basis, the range of products covered by preferential trade terms. At the conclusion of the third round of negotiations, the participants reached a mutual understanding on the key issues.

The meeting concluded with the signing of an agreed protocol confirming the inclusion of additional product categories in the list of goods eligible for preferential trade treatment, taking into account the interests of both countries.

According to the participants, the agreements are expected to further stimulate bilateral trade, increase export and import volumes, and support the achievement of the two countries' target of raising bilateral trade turnover to US$5 billion.
