Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent has agreed on plans to install smart water meters in residents’ homes in 2027, with the main priority being to establish a water supply balance. The districts where the devices will be installed have already been identified.

The plans were discussed at a working meeting chaired by Tashkent Deputy Hokim O. Muminov and attended by representatives of Technopark LLC and French company SUEZ International SAS, the Tashkent city administration reported.

The participants agreed to carry out the work in stages and in a systematic manner, while coordinating the efforts of the organisations responsible for implementation.

Since the beginning of 2026, more than 190,000 smart water meters have been installed free of charge in the Sergeli, Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, Uchtepa and Yangihayot districts.

According to the city administration, the measures will ensure accurate and transparent accounting of drinking water consumption and promote the rational use of water resources.

They are also expected to improve the accuracy of billing and support the continued digitalisation of the capital’s water supply system.
