Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy does not expect electricity supply disruptions during the autumn-winter period, apart from temporary outages required for scheduled maintenance, a ministry representative said at a press conference on 14 October.
The maintenance work is intended to replace worn-out equipment and modernise the electricity grid, the representative said.
For safety reasons, individual high-voltage power lines are temporarily switched off during repairs, interrupting electricity supplies to consumers. Residents are informed in advance about planned restrictions.
The ministry representative expressed confidence in the energy system’s readiness for winter and said no unplanned power outages were expected beyond those required for maintenance.
According to the ministry, the number of public complaints and enquiries concerning electricity supply fell significantly in 2025.
The ministry received a total of 108,300 complaints and enquiries, approximately one-third fewer than a year earlier. For the first time, issues related to gas supply accounted for a larger share of complaints than electricity supply, at 45% and 41%, respectively.
The number of electricity-related complaints fell by 40% to approximately 44,000.
The most common issue concerned the construction and repair of power line supports and transformers, which generated 17,400 complaints, down 35.8% from the previous figure.
Complaints specifically concerning electricity supply interruptions fell by almost half, declining 49.7% to 14,000.
