Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Production of agricultural machinery under the Uzbek brand Nasaf is developing in Karshi, where President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the FM World plant established with the participation of Chinese investors.
The company is part of Jiangsu World Group, which is among China’s 500 largest private companies. The US$20 million project was financed entirely through foreign investment.
The facility occupies five hectares, including 12,000 square metres of production buildings. It employs 200 people, and some manufacturing operations have been automated.
The plant assembles five tractor models, cotton harvesters and other types of agricultural machinery.
The tractors are equipped with GPS navigation and autopilot systems. Fertiliser application and monitoring of operations can also be managed remotely.
These technologies enable more precise fieldwork while reducing fuel consumption and the use of other resources. The company also provides training for machine operators and other specialists.
Training programmes cover machinery maintenance directly in the field, early fault detection and the safe operation of equipment.
The current localization rate for tractor assembly stands at 30%. The plant manufactures 138 types of parts and components in-house.
Further development plans include increasing the share of locally sourced components and expanding cooperation with Uzbek enterprises.
FM World intends to export 30% of its output to neighbouring countries and increase annual exports to US$50 million.
During his visit, Mirziyoyev reviewed the production process and the finished machinery.
The president highlighted the importance of developing domestic production of modern agricultural machinery and steadily increasing localization, saying these efforts should help reduce costs for farmers.
