Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Turkish industrial group OYAK plans to launch a major agrochemical production complex in Uzbekistan in 2027 through its Hektas Asia LLC project.
The project предусматривает the establishment of a facility covering approximately 100 hectares in the Uzbek-Turkish Industrial Zone in Tashkent.
According to Turkiye Today, citing a statement by OYAK Chief Executive Officer Murat Yalçıntaş, the project is being implemented with Turkish, Uzbek and Omani capital. Investment company UzOman Investment Company is also participating in the partnership.
The facility will produce agrochemicals and plant protection products. Its production and logistics infrastructure is intended to serve not only the domestic market but also export markets across other Central Asian countries.
Yalçıntaş said the project aims to strengthen local production capacity, expand regional supplies of agrochemical products and support food security. He also noted growing interest among Turkish businesses in investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.
The OYAK chief executive emphasised that investment in Hektas Asia is consistent with the group's strategy of establishing long-term manufacturing operations in Turkic countries and expanding its presence in Central Asia.
In parallel, OYAK is participating in the development of investment infrastructure for industrial and infrastructure projects across Central Asia and the Caucasus.
In particular, the Central Asia and Caucasus Direct Investment Fund was established with the participation of China's sovereign wealth fund, the Oman Investment Authority, Uzbekistan's Fund for Reconstruction and Development, and OYAK.
According to Yalçıntaş, this mechanism could attract long-term capital for industrial and infrastructure projects across the region.
