Tashkent Metro Receives Three More New Trains
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Metro has expanded its fleet with the addition of three new four-car electric trains. The commissioning of the new trainsets will reduce intervals between trains, improve passenger service quality, and continue the renewal of the rolling stock fleet.
According to the metro administration, the new trains are equipped with air conditioning systems for operation during the summer period, as well as heating systems to ensure comfortable conditions for passengers in winter.
The arrival of the new trains is part of a program to develop public transport and modernize the material and technical base of the metro system. Particular attention is being paid to the development of underground transport within the framework of ongoing transport infrastructure reforms in the country.
The new electric trains are expected to help gradually replace older-generation trains that have long service lives, increase the carrying capacity of the metro, and ensure more stable adherence to schedules amid growing passenger traffic.
Tashkent Metro plans to acquire another 11 modern trains by the end of this year. Their phased commissioning is aimed at further developing the metro infrastructure and improving the quality of transport services for residents and visitors of the capital.
