Uzbekistan Studies Russian Healthcare Training Model
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Uzbek delegation visited Russia to study the country's system for training and assessing healthcare personnel at all stages, from career guidance and the education of mid-level medical staff to postgraduate training for doctors and the development of management competencies for healthcare administrators.
At Moscow Medical College No. 1, the delegation reviewed modern approaches to training nurses and other mid-level medical professionals. Particular attention was given to practice-oriented educational programmes, the use of simulation technologies and cooperation between the college and medical institutions.
At the Moscow Healthcare Department's Personnel Centre, the delegation was introduced to a unified system for assessing the professional knowledge and practical skills of healthcare workers.
During a visit to the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education, the sides discussed residency programmes, professional retraining and advanced training for doctors. They also considered opportunities to organise joint educational programmes and internships for specialists from Uzbekistan.
The delegation also visited the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and the Academy of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, where it examined approaches to training healthcare managers, including the development of management competencies, project management, strategic planning and performance evaluation of healthcare institutions.
At the conclusion of the visit, the sides discussed prospects for launching joint educational programmes, training instructors, organising internships and introducing modern methods for assessing the knowledge and practical skills of healthcare professionals in Uzbekistan.
