Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A two-day acting workshop titled "Stage of Opportunities" was held at the State Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan on 9–10 July as a joint project of Rossotrudnichestvo's representative office in Uzbekistan and the State Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan.

The initiative aims to develop the creative potential of young people and support aspiring theatre enthusiasts.

Fifteen school and university students with an interest in theatre took part in the educational programme, gaining practical acting skills over two days. Participants explored the fundamentals of the acting profession, including stage speech, movement and character development.

The workshop was led by experienced theatre professionals.

The instructors included Guzal Suleymanova, a director, actress and lecturer in acting and stage speech at the Higher School of Variety and Circus Arts, and recipient of the "Madaniyat va san'at fidokori" honorary badge.

Ulugbek Zaripov, an Honoured Artist of Uzbekistan, Guinness World Records holder, head of the Circus Arts Department at the Higher School of Variety and Circus Arts and a senior lecturer, also conducted sessions.

The programme was joined by Dmitry Rezepin, an actor and stage movement instructor specialising in stage combat and stunt performance, who has participated in international theatre festivals.

The workshop programme featured practical exercises designed to develop concentration, imagination and creative thinking, along with breathing and articulation techniques, stage speech training, movement and coordination exercises, stage combat, acrobatics and juggling.

Particular emphasis was placed on helping participants develop their individual abilities, build confidence on stage and acquire the fundamental professional skills required for a future career in the performing arts.

At the end of the programme, participants received certificates confirming completion of the acting workshop.

The organisers said "Stage of Opportunities" would serve as a foundation for future educational and creative initiatives in the field of theatre. They added that participants are expected to apply the skills they acquired in practical activities and take part in future experimental theatre productions.

According to the organisers, the project marks another step towards supporting young talent and expanding opportunities for the creative development of youth.
