Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan is represented by eight museum artefacts at the international exhibition Global Antiquity, which opened on 5 November at Fondazione Prada in Milan. The exhibition explores more than 1,600 years of cultural exchange between the Mediterranean and Asia.
The exhibition is curated by Salvatore Settis, Anna Anguissola and Chiara Ballestrazzi. Its architectural and spatial design was developed by Rem Koolhaas and the AMO/OMA studio. The exhibition brings together more than 150 works of art and historical artefacts illustrating centuries of connections between regions across Eurasia.
The Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF) has contributed eight items from museum collections. These include a sculptural representation of a prince from Khalchayan, reflecting the artistic heritage of ancient Bactria, and seven chess pieces discovered in Afrasiab.
The exhibits represent the material culture of the region and provide evidence of the development of intellectual life among its population during the historical period.
Global Antiquity will be on display at Fondazione Prada in Milan from 5 November 2026 to 1 March 2027.
