Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Employees of the Tashkent Metro Security Department found US$10,000 that had been lost and returned the money to its owner, Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry press service said.

The money belonged to a Kazakhstan citizen who had travelled to Tashkent to buy a car at the Sergeli car market. According to the man, he reached Almazar metro station, but a bundle of banknotes fell out of his bag along the way. In a hurry, he did not notice the loss and discovered the money was missing only after arriving at the car market.

The lost money was found by an employee of the internal affairs authorities. Together with colleagues, he then used surveillance camera footage to identify the owner of the money.

The man was invited to the metro, where the US$10,000 was returned to him. The Kazakhstan citizen thanked the internal affairs officers for their honesty and prompt work.
