Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region and Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan have agreed to implement new joint projects and further develop interregional cooperation.
Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with Bashkortostan Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities Margarita Bolycheva at the Ferghana Expo center. The meeting was held as part of the third meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia.
The sides discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic ties, developing industrial cooperation and technological partnerships. Particular attention was paid to joint projects in agriculture.
The participants discussed the effective use of land plots allocated for Bashkortostan farming enterprises, as well as opportunities for Ferghana entrepreneurs to establish production facilities in a technopark being developed in the republic.
Another potential area of cooperation is the mutual integration of electronic trading platforms.
The sides said developing these areas would expand direct contacts between businesses in the two regions and create additional opportunities to enter new markets.
Measures to exchange delegations were agreed to promote new projects.
In addition to economic cooperation, the participants discussed further development of friendly relations between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Russia.
