Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzum Market has begun restoring operations following a technical outage that occurred during testing of new infrastructure ahead of the peak shopping season.

The warehouse has resumed order picking and will soon begin accepting goods under delivery notes dated 7, 8 and 9 October.

Order pickup points across Uzbekistan continue to operate normally. Customers can collect their orders by providing the number received by SMS or the name under which the order was placed.

Sellers can also hand over goods for delivery to the warehouse through pickup points that offer this service.

The company has extended the storage period for orders at pickup points. Uzum Market will provide further updates on when its website, mobile application and seller accounts will be fully restored.

According to the company, the technical failure occurred the previous day during testing of new infrastructure being prepared for a period of increased demand.

Uzum said user and marketplace partner data remained protected and was stored and processed in accordance with cybersecurity requirements and the legislation of Uzbekistan.

Compensation for Sellers and Buyers

Uzum Market has pledged to compensate franchise pickup point operators for lost income. In addition, logistics and storage services for sellers will be provided free of charge until the end of October.

Customers who were unable to collect their orders because of the outage will receive promotional codes for their next marketplace purchases.

The company apologised to buyers and sellers for the inconvenience and thanked them for their patience.
