Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Academies of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan have signed a plan of activities to develop scientific cooperation for 2026–2030.
The document was signed by Shavkat Ayupov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, during a working visit by an Uzbek delegation to Kazan.
The new plan builds on a memorandum of understanding signed in 2025. It provides for expanded cooperation between scientific institutions on both sides and the development of partnerships in fundamental and applied research.
Cooperation will cover physical and mathematical sciences, engineering and technology, chemical and biological sciences, and the social sciences and humanities.
Planned activities include exchanges of expertise among scientists, joint research, scientific conferences and seminars, and stronger direct links between research organisations affiliated with the two academies.
Implementation of the plan is intended to promote more effective use of the parties’ scientific potential and research infrastructure, advance promising areas of science and support the practical application of research findings.
Particular attention will be given to cooperation among young scientists and researchers. The document provides for exchanges of experience in scientific training and greater participation by young specialists in international scientific cooperation.
The plan aims to strengthen scientific ties between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan and develop a long-term partnership based on joint research projects and the exchange of scientific expertise.
