Uzbekistan Welcomes 6.5 Million Foreign Tourists in First Half
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan welcomed 6,565,410 foreign citizens for tourism purposes between January and June 2026, according to the National Committee on Statistics.
The number of foreign tourists increased by 1.3 million people, or 24.9%, compared to the same period last year.
The largest tourist flows traditionally originated from neighboring countries. Kyrgyzstan led the visitor numbers with 1,875,332 people entering Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan ranked second with 1,553,688 tourists, followed by Tajikistan, whose citizens made 1,471,670 trips.
Russia and Afghanistan rounded out the top five, with 585,558 and 238,925 visitors arriving respectively.
Other countries making up the top 10 sources of tourist flows included China with 223,479 visitors, Turkmenistan with 164,211, Türkiye with 95,466, India with 26,450, and Germany with 22,294 tourists.
The growth in the number of foreign guests indicates the ongoing recovery and development of the tourism industry in Uzbekistan, as well as the increasing attractiveness of the country for travelers from the region and other states.
