Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 12–13 March, an international roundtable was held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, at the Training and Methodological Center of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation.
The roundtable focused on issues related to the development of competition in the pharmaceutical market.
Specialists from Russia, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan participated in the event. During the discussions, topics such as preventing artificially inflated drug prices, compulsory licensing, patent legislation, and measures to combat cartel agreements in public procurement based on advanced international experience were examined.
Uzbekistan was represented by employees of the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan. They provided information on the measures being undertaken in the country to foster a competitive environment in the pharmaceutical market and to regulate public procurement of medicines.
At the conclusion of the event, all participants were awarded certificates, and an agreement was reached to further strengthen mutual cooperation.
