Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Region and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) have agreed to expand cooperation in industry, trade and investment. The talks were held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China as part of the regional delegation’s working visit.

Tashkent Region Governor Zoir Mirzaev met with CCCME leadership. The meeting highlighted the organisation’s role in developing international trade and economic ties.

CCCME brings together more than 10,000 enterprises and comprises 22 industry divisions. Its headquarters are located in Beijing.

Chinese representatives were briefed on Tashkent Region’s industrial, investment and export potential, as well as opportunities and conditions for implementing new production projects involving foreign investors.

The sides discussed the development of the machinery and electrical engineering industries, high-tech manufacturing and industrial cooperation. Particular attention was paid to expanding export and import operations and implementing investment projects by Chinese companies in Tashkent Region.

The participants noted that CCCME’s broad network creates opportunities for the region to establish direct contacts with Chinese manufacturers and exporters, attract new partners and expand Tashkent Region’s export geography.

The sides also considered ways to use CCCME’s potential to promote trade and investment, develop international industrial cooperation, provide legal support and offer professional services.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to further develop practical cooperation between Tashkent Region and CCCME, jointly develop prospective projects and attract major Chinese companies to the region.
