Uzbekistan and Germany discuss cooperation on raw materials

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining Industry and Geology B. Islamov held a meeting on 9 September with a German delegation led by Klaus Mangold, Chairman of Mangold Consulting GmbH. Responsible ministry officials also attended the talks.

During the meeting, representatives of the Uzbek Metallurgical and Technological Metals Plant presented an overview of the enterprise’s activities, its current production capabilities and ongoing work to develop and process strategic mineral resources.

Representatives of Mercedes-Benz AG then presented a report titled “Uzbek-German Raw Materials Dialogue.” The participants discussed prospects for industrial cooperation, Uzbekistan’s mineral and raw material potential, and opportunities to implement joint projects.

Particular attention was paid to expanding technological and investment cooperation between the sides.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to further develop cooperation in mining and strategic raw materials. They also agreed to jointly explore promising areas and continue the dialogue.
