Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s women’s national football team lost 6-3 to the Republic of Korea in the quarterfinals of the Asian Games.
The Republic of Korea opened the scoring in the first minute through Choi Yu-ri. Diyora Khabibullayeva equalized in the 11th minute to make it 1-1.
Choi Yu-ri put the Republic of Korea back in front in the 17th minute. Su Jeong-yun extended the lead in the 44th minute and scored again in stoppage time at the end of the first half to make it 4-1.
Uzbekistan reduced the deficit in the second half. In the 64th minute, Jang Seul-gi scored an own goal, while Nilufar Qudratova scored Uzbekistan’s third goal two minutes later to make it 4-3.
Su Jeong-yun completed her hat-trick in the 74th minute to restore the Republic of Korea’s two-goal advantage. Kim Min-ji scored in stoppage time to set the final score at 6-3.
Uzbekistan’s women’s national football team ended its Asian Games campaign in the quarterfinals.
