Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan presented three issues proposed by the country’s national customs administration at the 78th session of the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) Harmonized System Committee, held in Brussels from 7 to 18 September, the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Representatives from more than 70 countries took part in the international event. The session examined 92 issues related to customs, including three proposals put forward by Uzbekistan’s Customs Committee.
L. Atoev, a representative of Uzbekistan’s Customs Committee in Belgium, presented the issues submitted by the Uzbek side to international experts and actively participated in their discussion.
Uzbekistan’s participation in the session was aimed at promoting the country’s national interests in the customs sector, further improving the practice of classifying goods in accordance with the Harmonized System, and strengthening international cooperation with the WCO and the customs administrations of member countries.
The Customs Committee noted that Uzbekistan’s submission of specific and practical proposals during international discussions on the Harmonized System demonstrates the growing involvement of the national customs administration in international expert processes.
