Uzbekistan Penalyzes Tour Operators Over Umrah Advertising
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Competition Development Committee of Uzbekistan has taken action against a number of tour operators that violated advertising legislation while promoting services for organizing the Umrah pilgrimage.
According to the agency, the committee is continually monitoring promotional materials published in the media and on the internet to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Advertising."
During the investigation, publications from tour operators offering travel organization services for the Umrah pilgrimage were reviewed.
According to the committee, its territorial departments in the Ferghana, Namangan, and Tashkent regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent, identified violations of the law in advertising materials posted by page administrators for Hamroh Tour, Kabadoshlarim, Yuksak Travel, Murabbiy Travel, Hikmat Travel, and Infin Tour on Instagram and Telegram.
Administrative liability measures have been applied to the officials of these organizations in accordance with the current legislation.
The Competition Development Committee emphasized that based on the results of the audits, all measures provided for by the law will be taken, and efforts to monitor compliance with advertising legislation requirements will continue.
