Uzbekistan, Japan Discuss JAPANISTAN Project Initiative

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee Sanjar Tadjiev held talks with Kenichi Watanabe, producer of the “Cool Japan Initiative” program under the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan, head of the Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership platform, and CEO of XPJP Inc.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in cultural and creative industries, as well as the implementation of the joint JAPANISTAN project aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.

Particular attention was given to promoting tourism potential. The sides considered the possibility of broadcasting thematic content on television in Uzbekistan and Japan, as well as producing specialized TV programs dedicated to the country’s tourism opportunities.

In addition, the participants discussed expanding cooperation in the media space, which is expected to contribute to strengthening cultural ties and promoting tourism destinations in both countries.
