Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in tourism, including increasing tourist exchanges, developing air connectivity between Tashkent and Minsk, and strengthening ties between representatives of the tourism industries of the two countries, Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee reported.
The meeting between Sanjar Tajiev, Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, and Kirill Masharsky, Director of the National Tourism Agency under the Government of Belarus, took place on the sidelines of the Dushanbe International Tourism Expo (DITE 2026), held in Dushanbe from 24 to 26 September.
The sides discussed opportunities to make more effective use of air connectivity on the Tashkent–Minsk route, as well as intensifying direct contacts between tourism authorities, tour operators and private-sector representatives.
Cultural and educational, family, medical and health resort tourism were identified as promising areas of cooperation. The participants also discussed organizing recreation, treatment and rehabilitation through trade unions, exchanging experience in ecotourism and conducting familiarization tours.
Following the meeting, Belarus’s National Tourism Agency and representatives of the country’s tourism industry were invited to participate with a national stand at the 31st Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” (TITF–2026).
The sides confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation based on the agreements reached and implement joint tourism initiatives.
