Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov on 7 October took part in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held in the Awaza national tourist zone in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, held in restricted and expanded formats, the foreign ministers exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda, as well as prospects for further developing multilateral cooperation within the CIS.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.
The participants also put forward proposals and initiatives aimed at expanding trade and economic ties among the CIS countries.
Priority areas included establishing effective transport and logistics chains, intensifying humanitarian and youth exchanges, and developing digital cooperation.
The meeting also addressed issues related to joint efforts to counter modern security challenges and threats.
