Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and China discussed the development of legal cooperation and the protection of investors’ rights during a meeting in Tashkent Region, the Tashkent Region Department of Justice said.
Representatives of the regional Department of Justice and a delegation from the Department of Justice of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region discussed experience-sharing and issues related to investor rights protection.
The sides exchanged views on further developing cooperation in the legal sphere and discussed the role of advocacy in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of investors.
Around 1,500 enterprises with Chinese capital are currently operating in Tashkent Region, according to the meeting. They operate in trade, industry, services, construction and agriculture.
Particular attention was paid to providing investors with qualified legal assistance and strengthening contractual relations through legal mechanisms. The participants also discussed the role of advocacy in protecting investors’ rights in court and arbitration proceedings.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed interest in continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanging experience in the legal sphere. They also agreed to further strengthen interaction between the parties.
