Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Dilshod Akhatov held a meeting with the Speaker of the German Bundestag, Julia Klöckner, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the conversation, the diplomat extended congratulations to the German parliamentarian on her recent appointment to the high-ranking position.
The Uzbek side conveyed the interest of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis in further expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation with the Bundestag.
Julia Klöckner spoke positively about the wide-ranging reforms underway in Uzbekistan in the political, legal, and socio-economic spheres, and noted the dynamic development of parliamentary activity in the country. She expressed her support for initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
The two sides also discussed the organization of mutual visits by parliamentary delegations, the exchange of legislative expertise, and the expansion of Uzbek participation in the German Bundestag’s International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) program, which is aimed at knowledge exchange and professional development.
