Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —A closed court hearing in the criminal case against 16-year-old D. Turgunov, born in 2010, has concluded at the Mirabad district court for criminal cases in Tashkent.
The court found him guilty of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm resulting in the victim's death and sentenced him to two years and four months in prison.
D. Turgunov, a 10th-grade pupil at a private school, was found guilty under paragraph "d" of part 3 of Article 104 of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code.
The court imposed the punishment in accordance with Article 85 of the Criminal Code. The prison term is counted from 27 February 2026, the day the convicted person was placed in custody as a preventive measure.
During the hearing, the presiding judge explained the contents of the verdict to the parties, as well as their right to apply to the court under civil proceedings to recover material and moral damages caused by the crime. The parties were also informed of the deadlines and procedure for appealing the verdict.
