Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has expressed deep concern over the further deterioration of the situation in the Middle East, including missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabian territory, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry strongly condemned any use of force against civilians and civilian and energy infrastructure, as well as actions that threaten the security of states in the region and international shipping.

The Foreign Ministry stressed the need for strict compliance with international law, including respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.

Uzbekistan said disputes should be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means based on dialogue and mutual respect.

Uzbekistan also expressed support for efforts by the United Nations and countries in the region aimed at de-escalating tensions, preventing the further spread of the conflict and establishing lasting peace in the Middle East.
