Uzbek President appoints acting governor of Ferghana region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov appointed acting governor of Ferghana region on 7 November 2011.

In line with the presidential decree, Shukhrat Ganiev has been appointed as acting governor of Ferghana region.

Prior to appointment, he worked as the first deputy governor of Ferghana region on agriculture and water management issues.

With other decree, President Islam Karimov released Hamidjon Nematov from the post of governor of Ferghana region.
