Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Wallet in Telegram has announced a rebranding and will now operate under the name Walt. The name change reflects the product’s transformation from a simple cryptocurrency wallet into a universal platform offering trading tools, yield products and support for multichain assets.
The rebranding comes ahead of the planned launch of Telegram’s built-in non-custodial wallet, Gram.
According to the developers, the two products will serve different purposes. Gram will be positioned as an entry point for a broad audience, offering purchases of the ecosystem’s main token, transfers and payments within Telegram services, while Walt will target more advanced users.
Walt currently supports the storage and exchange of more than 300 assets across four blockchains, trading in more than 200 crypto assets, tokenized stocks, ETFs and metals as real-world assets (RWAs), as well as yield products for stablecoins and a range of other assets.
The platform also offers perpetual futures trading on more than 70 instruments, including oil and metals.
The company plans to launch crypto cards for everyday payments and an AI assistant for market analysis and portfolio management in the near future.
“We started as a simple wallet for buying Toncoin and bitcoin, and over four years have grown into a full-fledged crypto platform,” said Andrei Rogozov, founder and CEO of The Open Platform (TOP) and Walt.
