Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan improved its position in the global Speedtest Global Index internet speed ranking in August, rising three places for both mobile and fixed connections. The country ranked first among CIS states in fixed internet speed, according to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.

The average download speed on mobile networks increased from 62.42 Mbps to 65.27 Mbps over the month. As a result, Uzbekistan rose from 75th to 72nd place in the global ranking.

Over the past five years, the country has improved its position in mobile internet speed by 65 places.

Since the beginning of 2026, mobile internet in Uzbekistan has also accelerated significantly. Over eight months, the average download speed increased by 27%, from 51.42 Mbps to 65.27 Mbps.

The fixed internet speed indicator also increased in August, from 94.23 Mbps to 94.50 Mbps. Compared with December 2025, Uzbekistan rose from 76th to 73rd place in the global fixed internet speed ranking.
