Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Algeria discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the mining and geological sectors during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Algeria’s Minister of Mines Mourad Hanifi, who is visiting Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed further development of bilateral cooperation in mining and geology.

Saidov said relations between Uzbekistan and Algeria are steadily expanding across various areas. He noted that the meeting continued the dialogue held during his visit to Algeria in June this year.

The talks focused on cooperation in geological exploration of mineral resources and the development of promising deposits.

The sides also considered opportunities to implement joint projects, expand the deep processing of mineral raw materials and produce higher value-added products.
