Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Khairullo Bozorov, governor of Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region, discussed new areas of interregional cooperation with Konstantin Sidorenko, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Russia’s Primorye region.
The meeting was held at the Ferghana Expo exhibition complex as part of the third meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia.
The sides discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment ties, as well as implementing joint projects between the regions.
One of the key areas was promoting products from Ferghana region on the Russian market. In particular, the sides proposed establishing a trading house and a trade and distribution center in Primorye for products from Ferghana region.
The center is intended to facilitate supplies of agricultural products, dried fruits and fresh fruit from Ferghana not only to other regions of Russia but also to markets in Vietnam and China.
The participants also paid particular attention to developing transport links. The sides discussed the possibility of establishing direct air links between Ferghana and Primorye.
They also exchanged views on developing logistics, tourism and humanitarian cooperation.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue work on specific projects and move the agreements and initiatives reached into practical implementation.
