Uzbek judoka Shakhram Akhadov wins silver at Qingdao Grand Prix

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Shakhram Akhadov, a member of the Uzbekistan national judo team, achieved a high sporting result at the prestigious international Grand Prix series tournament held in the Chinese city of Qingdao.

Competing in the weight category up to 73 kilograms, the Uzbek athlete successfully overcame all preliminary stages of the competition to secure a silver medal at the end of the tournament.

On his way to the final, Akhadov conducted a series of confident bouts, defeating strong opponents from Finland, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates.

In the decisive match for the gold medal, the Uzbek judoka faced Japanese representative Tatsuki Ishihara, a three-time World Championship medalist.

Following a tough struggle on the tatami, Akhadov lost to the prominent Japanese athlete, concluding his performance at the Chinese stage of the Grand Prix as the runner-up.
