Uzbek, Iranian Presidents Discuss Middle East Tensions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian. During the call, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on pressing international issues.

At the beginning of the conversation, Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated the Uzbek leader on his birthday, wishing him good health, family well-being, and continued success in state activities.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed serious concern over ongoing tensions in the Middle East. He emphasized that in the current situation, it is especially important to exercise restraint and resume dialogue.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue developing bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on expanding interaction in trade, economic, investment, transport, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The presidents of Uzbekistan and Iran also exchanged views on other issues on the bilateral and international agendas.
